Sara Ruddock – Dance artist, teacher and choreographer from Stockholm, based in London.
Active within dance, choreography and education since 2002, performing, teaching and touring in Sweden and internationally. In recent years creating and performing a number of solo works, and in collaborative projects with other artists, researching in and through choreography.
– MFA, BA(Hons) – Educated mainly at DOCH, Stockholm University of The Arts, most recently at the Master Programme New Performative Practices, 2013. Currently a PhD candidate at Roehampton University, London.
As dancer/performer I have worked with a range of choreographers including Deborah Hay (USA) who has been a great influence on the way I practice choreography and performance. During 2018-19 I am engaged in various projects, as performer and choreographer, in collaboration with Siobhan Davies Dance, and with other artists and choreographers.
As an educator, active as Lecturer of Contemporary Dance for several years at DOCH – Stockholm University of the Arts, teaching at a number of schools/colleges including the Royal Swedish Ballet School, and facilitating classes and workshops for students and professionals internationally. Since 2017 teaching in periods at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music & Dance, and 2019 facilitating professional morning classes at Independent Dance, London.
Currently researching and working with sonic and rhythmic becomings and utterances, irregularities and resistance, voice, vibration, bodily listening and forces of groove.
