Sara Ruddock – Dance artist, teacher and choreographer from Stockholm, currently based in London.
Active in the fields of dance, choreography and education since 2002, performing, teaching and touring in Sweden and internationally. In recent years creating and performing a number of solo works, and in collaborative projects with other artists, researching in and through choreography.
– MFA, BA(Hons) – Educated mainly at DOCH, Stockholm University of The Arts, most recently at the Master Programme New Performative Practices, 2013.
As dancer/performer I have worked with a range of choreographers including Deborah Hay (USA) who has been a great influence on the way I practice choreography and performance. During 2018 engaging in various projects, as performer and choreographer, in collaboration with Siobhan Davies Dance, and with other artists and choreographers.
As an educator, Lecturer of Contemporary Dance for several years at DOCH – Stockholm University of the Arts, teaching at a number of schools/colleges including the Royal Swedish Ballet School, and giving classes and workshops for students and professionals internationally. During 2017/18 teaching at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music & Dance.
Currently researching and working with sonic and rhythmic becomings and utterances, irregularities and resistance, bodily listening and forces of groove.
